The last few days have been unseasonably cool here in the Northeast. We actually noticed some leaves starting to turn this weekend. Way too soon if you ask me. But since Mother Nature has never given my opinions much weight, I went with the flow and started changing out some of the brighter colors on the porch this weekend for some warmer tones.
One of my favorite places at the cabin to play around with is this little bistro table. Something about bistro tables that I’ve always loved. We’ve had this table for many, many years. There’s actually a funny story attached to this table which I will tell you about one day, but for now, indulge me while I tell you about the little tweaks I did in preparation for Fall.
I started with the obvious, the tablecloth. I switched out the simple white cloth (under the floral which you can’t see) for a burlap cloth. Burlap just screams Autumn, don’t you think? Then I changed out the floral fabric with some plaid and in no time the table was ready for Fall.
I shopped the house for the items on the table. I picked up the faux fruit at HomeGoods a couple of months ago, and the leaf bowls I’ve had for so long I can’t remember where or when I got them.
One of the best things about Fall for me is concord grapes. Now I have to ask…if you eat them, do you eat the skins or just suck out the inside? I do both, depending on my mood. Weird, right?
I made some quick napkins and tied them up with some burlap ribbon.
After I finished taking the pictures, I ate the grapes and I have to say they’re not quite ready yet. I think they need a couple of more weeks to be at their best.
It’s funny, less than two weeks ago I was making pillows that were absolutely for Spring and Summer decorating. I never thought I’d be getting ready for Fall so early!
Have you done any Fall decorating, or are you holding on to Summer for dear life?

So pretty! I’m definitely ready for fall but the temp outside is still screaming 100 so I just stay inside and crank the AC!! Have a wonderful week!~~Ang

It feels like fall here, too, in South Carolina, but I know it’s just Mother Nature’s little joke. 95 degrees will be back soon, so I’m hanging on to summer for now. 🙂 Your decor looks beautiful, though!

You’re so right Dawn! The forecast for the week is the temps in the high 80’s here in NY. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

Very nice Doreen. I haven’t started decorating for fall yet. I live in Florida, so we’ll have a few more weeks of summer. I love decorating for autumn though. To answer your question about the concord grapes, I definitely eat them with the skin. Most of the grape’s nutrients are in the skin. Well, I’m off to find some burlap. Haha! Have a great week!
Doreen Sargente says
Ahhh..never thought about the nutrients. Good to know! And btw, congrats on your interview! So excited for you!!!!!

No, Doreen, no Fall decorating here yet. It’s still too hot…I’d love for it to cool off so I would even be in the mood for Fall decorating. Hmm, maybe if I started, the weather would get the hint? Lol
Hugs,
Cecilia

How fun to change from summer to fall! I love the sunflowers in the vase for the centerpiece. The rustic texture adds to the fall feel. I love fruit, cheese and crackers as fall food. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much Pam! I think the flowers you’re referring to are actually black-eyed Susans, but I could be wrong. I’m terrible when it comes to identifying flowers!

Really lovely! I love the green bottle vase and the tablecloth.
