Some of you know I’ve been on Weight Watchers since right before Thanksgiving. I know what you’re wondering. What person in their right mind starts a diet then, (or as I like to say, a ‘lifestyle change’)?
Well, here’s the thing. WW is truly not a problem for me to stick to. I love fruits and veggies, and since they’re zero points, heck, WW is a piece of cake (pun intended).
Not that I don’t get a hankering for a juicy cheeseburger now and then,
I am, despite rumors to the contrary, human.
BUT. I’m sorta an insomniac.
So what does that have to do with WW and losing weight? Well, think about it. While you may have to fend off the urge to lick off the frosting on a pack of cupcakes a mere 16 hours a day, I, on the other hand, have to resist the temptation about 19 hours a day. It’s late at night that the food devils come a callin’ and I’m most vulnerable. You’ll find me stickin’ my nose in the fridge at 2 a.m. sniffing around for something that’s only gonna end up locking itself onto my love handles for dear life.
But these little orbs have saved my butt, quite literally. I don’t know how, why, where or when I came up with the idea to roast grapes. Sometime around a month ago I think. I know. I’m a genius.
Here’s what you do: Grab a bunch of grapes, rinse them off, and place on a baking sheet covered in parchment or foil. Don’t skip this step unless you want to spend a few hours cleaning your baking sheet. If you want to spray with non stick cooking spray that’s a good idea, but optional. Place them in a preheated 400 degree oven and cook until they start to look like this…
or this…
Ok, so maybe they don’t look THAT cute…
(Usually it’s around 35-45 minutes)
These are the same bunch of grapes in the first photo. You’ll notice they’ve shrunk a LOT, and what’s left is a gooey, sweet concoction that I CAN’T BELIEVE IS ZERO POINTS! Let them cool for a couple of minutes and enjoy while they’re still warm. If you want, they can be reheated for a bit in the microwave.
If you haven’t tried this, you should. If you have, don’t tell me. I’d like to think I’m the only brilliant mind out there.
These grapes are probably responsible for my 7 lb weight loss, which during the holidays is no small feat. Oh, and have you heard TMZ is spreading rumors that Tom Brady is about to dump Gisele Bundchen for yours truly? Must be my new rockin’ bod, so let’s keep this diet trick a secret from that old hag, ok?

45 minutes and on parchment paper. I can do this. You’re a genius. I’m always searching for late night snacks, but healthy isn’t always whats on my mind, though it should be. Congrats on the 7 lbs weight loss!!! Keep it going, Doreen 🙂

I’ve never done this either but I would like to try them. Sounds yummy and I love any kind of fruit! I don’t eat sugar at all so eating some fruit every day is my treat! Happy weekend!

Yay for WW. I’ve been on the plan since Sept 2012 and find it fantastic. Another great 0 point snack is frozen grapes. I’m also a big fan of diet sprite, ice, banana, and strawberries blended together.

The dogs worry me to let them out about three times at night, and I stop and get a cookie out of the cookie bin. Thank goodness they are very small cookies! Oddly enough, I lost over the holidays, but then I didn’t get out much to tempt me.

While Giselle may munch on little leaflets of lettuce to keep her shape (and hubby!), YOU, my savvy, grape popping pal, are enjoying the effort AND achieving excellent results! Thanks for the tips, and in this case, a moment on the lips, is ABSENT from the hips’!!

I’m happy to discover your fun blog! a 7 lb. weight loss during the holidays is incredible! Congratulations! It took me 3 months to lose 18 lbs. last year and I re-gained a couple back over the holidays. I need a sweet treat like your roasted grape recipe to get me through my late night diet slumps, too. Never would have thought of it, so you are really onto something here.
Thanks and good luck to Gisele!
