I know it sounds sappy, and it’s definitely not a popular sentiment, but Valentine’s Day has always been a special day to me. Fisherman and I usually have a nice dinner, eat way too much (chocolate!) and get each other mushy hallmark cards. I’m a sucker for the romance, and I definitely love an over the top table filled with pretty crystal, fine china and red roses.
It doesn’t matter who you are sharing Valentine’s Day with or what your style may be, there is a table here you will love.
This first inspiration actually comes from a wedding reception table. Hang cute photos of you and your honey (or your friends/family) from a light fixture or in the case of this example, an adorable reclaimed ladder. X’s and O’s add a special, romantic touch.
I was blown away with this beautiful, asymmetrical arrangement of red roses. Stunningly dramatic!
If your taste leans more toward something simple but elegant, this table fits the bill.
I adore polka dots, and this table displays just the right amount for my taste.
Simple heart motif napkins highlighted with a ‘pearl’ napkin rings, striped tablecloth and cute red lovebirds, give this table a fun, whimsical feeling.
It wouldn’t be difficult or expensive to duplicate this adorable table. Sparkly red paper from a craft store cut into heart shaped place mats, houndstooth fabric for the tablecloth and some red velvet fabric for the backdrop of the luxurious centerpiece all come together to create a beautifully inspired table.
A big glass vase filled with cranberries and red roses and large letters to spell out ‘LOVE’ are simple but oh so effective.
Isn’t this the prettiest china pattern? I love the way the colors pop against the baby blue tablecloth, and I just want to sink my teeth into those macaroons :).
This elegantly simple table would be perfect any time of year, and the addition of little journals as favors for your guests is a gesture anyone would appreciate.
Crystal cake plates and cloches gives this table a romantic, airy feel.
Casual, yet elegant, this crafty, DIY table brings some whimsical, casual flair to this setting..
Who said A Valentine’s Day table setting needs to be fancy? This adorable table setting keeps things simple with chargers featuring little hearts and a pretty checked napkin.
While all of these tables have a Valentine’s theme to them, I got to thinking though…why not use some of these ideas all year round? They’re perfect for any romantic meal and they even work for a festive holiday table.
Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
In other news…
This time of year the weather seems to be a primary topic, and around here in Florida it’s no exception. This week there was almost non stop rain Wednesday and Thursday, causing some neighborhoods to resemble rivers. Normally the average rainfall for January is less than two inches, but we’ve gotten nearly thirteen inches of rain so far. Of course, that’s because we’re here. 😶
In between dodging raindrops, we’ve managed to slip in some activities worth doing while in Naples. Last week we took a short drive to Marco Island and spent a few hours at Stan’s, a honky tonk place well known for its cast of characters, music and the best burgers around. It attracts more than its fair share of bikers and this was one of my favs.
I guess it’s the cowgirl in me ;).
We plan on returning Sunday for their ‘mullet’ festival which promises to have lots of mullet fish and hairstyles. Maybe I’ll get one…
Monday we are leaving Naples and heading to Venice for a month. We’ve enjoyed our time here but we’re looking forward to moving on.

Hi Doreen, thanks for your blogging advice, I appreciate it! I think I will stick with people following me by email Bloglovin and social media. I love all of those pretty tables settings. The white black and red are gorgeous together. Sorry to hear about the rain and I hope that the weather improves for you.

Doreen, I love the tabescapes, but that bike is something else! Wow all that fringe! And then you talk about mullets…please don’t get a mullet, please. Have a great time in Venice and stay dry!

While I loved “old Naples” I can only take the “new Naples” in short doses…lol You will love Venice. When I lived in Ft. Myers we would escape to Venice/Sarastoa for long weekends all the time. Make sure you pop over and see the Ringling Bros museum while you are in that area. It is worth the visit. Enjoy your time there. xo Diana

I love all these tables but that last one is calling my name!
When we lived in Orlando we always bought smoked mullet on the way home from our trips to the beach. Amazing flavor!
And isn’t Venice where blogger Becky from Abbey Style Home lives, or is that Venice Beach? Are they the same? Anyway, her pictures of the town have always made me want to visit there.

Those roses..WOW! We don’t really do Valentines Day, although I like to bake my boys some sort of special treat. I hope the weather is better when you move on to Venice!

What pretty table settings! I really love them all. We don’t do much for Valentine’s Day. We celebrate the day before, the 13th, which is our wedding anniversary date. We celebrate that every month with a little gift for each other.

Love everything here. Especially the ladder and the asymmetrical roses. I’m not a romantic. Guess three marriages sucked that right out of me! But I am so happy for couples like you two. Makes me believe in lasting love…

Mullets, huh? I think I’d have to skip that one lol I hope the weather gets better for you on the rest of your trip.
The table settings are all really pretty and I appreciate the effort that goes into them, but I don’t go to the trouble anymore. I’ll probably just slap some flowers in a vase and call it a day lol Can you tell I’m not a “tablescaper”? 🙂
I do remember if walls could talk. It was my favorite show and I cursed them the day they took it off.

You always find such fun ideas and inspiration Lady!! Love it! 😉
Also, sure sounds like you’re having lots of fun adventures!! I envy you the warm and the fun – keep soaking it up Sweetie! A mullet festival sounds interesting. Lol All business in the front and a party in the back…sounds like you might fit that okay. 🙂 Haha!
Blessings dearest Gal! Happy February. xoxo

Well anything with red gets my motor running and if there are tulips on the table too, it’s a home run! 😉 Gee, can you guess which table setting is my favorite? Ps…when I was in high school I had what was called a bi level haircut. I think that was just a fancy word for a mullet. Shhh.
Feral Turtle says
Thanks for the inspiration! Everyone of those tablescapes is gorgeous! Now I am wondering…are you getting the mullet fish or the mullet hair? Cheers.
Cindi says
Sorry you had so much rain!
But it does look like you are having fun!
Love the tablescapes.
I like the first one and the one with the blue tablecloth and the last one, the best!
But they are all very pretty.
I don’t celebrate Valentines except for eating chocolate…
hmmm. I guess I celebrate it everyday!

I like the saddlebag cycle too, it speaks to my love of fringe. I adored seeing all the lovely Valentines Day tables.

I love all of the tablescapes, but the black/white/red and the black/white/gold combos are my favs. Don’t know why I’m all into gold right now…normally, I stay far away from it…flashbacks from the 70s….LOL Hope you are doing well sweet friend! Hugs!

Doreen, I can’t believe how creative some people are. These table settings are so festive, fun, cheerful, and very pretty. My favorite was the simple and elegant table with the red roses. : ) The polka dot one caught my eye too because I love a little whimsical in every holiday. I like the simple table with the journals too. Wow, it’s been raining heavy in your area. We’ve had some rain, but not like this! I hope you’re enjoying your vacation. Sounds like a wonderful time.

What great inspiration for tablescapes Doreen. Looks like you are having a blast in FL. I’m sure you didn’t let a few raindrops set you back. I’ve been in FL when all the bikers were there and boy do they have fun. I’m not a bike girl but that one with the fringe was pretty. Have fun and a great weekend. Hugs………

Hi Doreen,
I Love Valentines day too, sappy or not I Love it all! Next to Christmas it is another holiday that spreads Love…so I’m all in! 🙂
I love all of these tables but I do have 2 favorites…the wedding table X’s and O’s – Love that one and the crafty DIY table with the branches and little hearts – Love that one too!
The weather in Florida has been the pits since after Christmas…my in-laws were wearing sweaters today when we FaceTimed them! At least you don’t have icy sidewalks like here, so it’s still better than winter!
A mullet…well now, your cute self just may be able to pull that off! 😉
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Big Hugs!!
Amy @ StowandTellU says
Love them all, but #1 from the wedding reception and #9 with the prettiest china pattern (and those macaroons) are my two faves. Then there’s that cowgirl bike, ohhh, so fun!! I hope you had a blast if you ended up going to the mullet fest. And you’re hanging out at a honky tonk??? I’m so jealous. Who cares about the weather, you two look like you’re having quite the adventure, and that’s all that really counts. xo Amy
