For some time, I’ve heard bloggers mention Hobby Lobby as a resource for where they get their supplies, but wow, I had no idea it was this awesome!
We don’t have one where we live in NY :(. If I want craft supplies, I go to either Michael’s or Joanne’s. These stores are great in their own right, but on a recent visit to a Hobby Lobby that opened in Massachusetts at the Holyoke Mall, about 35 minutes from our weekend place, I spent 2 glorious hours being completely and utterly impressed. This place is like a HomeGoods, Michael’s and Joanne’s rolled into one! Pure nirvana.
They have furniture, home accessories, fabric, craft supplies, art pieces, you name it. This living room vignette was what I saw upon entering. I was immediately smitten with the mix of fabrics and colors. Maybe it’s not something I would purchase, but you can’t deny these colors are just plain happy, and the mix of colors and patterns interestingly work!
This hard to miss piece would make a statement, don’t you think?
Speaking of hallways, I’m thinking of putting a sofa table in our hallway at the cabin. Something like this might work well, but I actually have another idea using some Airstone that we used for the kitchen island.
I seriously could have taken a hundred pictures, but I was too busy oogling all the eye candy this stores has to offer.
A couple of days later I went to Joanne’s and stumbled upon a container of fabric samples for $2 each. They’re about 17″ square which isn’t very large, but it’s large enough for a pillow. I figured I could use a patterned fabric on one side, and a solid on the other. I could also sew some together for a bolster pillow. For all the times I’ve been to Joanne’s, I’ve never noticed a sale like this. It’s a great way to get some quality fabrics (Robert Allen and Waverly) for not much money. I noticed the original price per yard for some of these were more than $50.00!
These are the ones I picked up. What do you think? I think these will end up on the porch.
Do you have a Hobby Lobby near you? I wonder if the one I went to was perhaps a bit nicer than most since it’s brand new? I wish they would open one up in NY. Are you listening Hobby Lobby??!

We finally got a Hobby Lobby several years ago and it is where I love to shop. The only problem with Hobby Lobby is they are closed on Sunday! 🙁

I absolutely LOVE Hobby Lobby! It’s my ‘go to’ store before Michael’s or Joanne’s because they have everything and something is always on sale! If your particular item isn’t on sale this week, check next week cause it probably will be!!! I don’t think I’ve every bought anything full price there but then my store is just down the road so I can go every week plus we have 4 or 5 in our town….heaven!! Have a great weekend!!~~Angela

We don’t have one but I have heard so much about it. I love to discover new craft stores. I figure it is healthy retail therapy since I make and sell and lot my crafts. It’s research!
