I’m blown away by how creative some people are! Seriously, take a look at some of these shelves and ask yourself if you could even begin to think up these designs. I know I couldn’t. Not in a million years. Like them or not, you have to admit they’re interesting and unbelievably creative.
I’m finding so many unique designs are being developed in Asia and Europe. It seems like that part of the world really thinks outside of the box. Maybe it’s a by-product of not having as much living space as we do here in the US, so they come up with creative ways to use the space they do have.
I came across a magazine article that had some pictures that were excerpted from a book entitled ‘Bookshelf’ by Alex Johnson which apparently was published in May of this year. If you google it, you’ll find a lot more images, but I picked what I thought were the best of the best.
Although this was the first time I came across these cow bookshelves, apparently they went viral a few months ago. I guess I live under a rock.
I love floating shelves, and these are an interesting variation, don’t you think?
This ‘bookshelf’ can be coiled up and reshaped into any configuration. Genius.
This chair/shelf aims to make the cracks between the cushions useful.
The design inspiration for this bookshelf were neurons receiving electrical and chemical impulses.
This bookshelf appears to be slipping down the wall, doesn’t it?
I love this one! It almost seems to be moving in the wind.
This three-dimensional wallpaper bulges out to provide a shelf for some books or whatever else you might want to showcase. The wallpaper comes in a range of patterns.
A rustic look with a modern twist.
Maybe you’ve seen this before? I have on Pinterest in different variations. Very cute.
OMG! How cute are these teacups? Love the colors too.
Did you know I’m the Pac Man Queen? Now you do.
And this bookshelf seems to be channeling Tom Selleck.
These ‘comic book’ shelves would look nice above appropriate artwork.
A chair AND a bookshelf? Wow.
Do you have a favorite?

These are so creative! I love the cows, but don’t think they’d fit in my living room. My all time favorite is the last one of the chair and bookshelf together.
