I’ve been pretty lucky lately when it comes to finding some good deals. The one thing I wasn’t so lucky about was remembering to bring my USB cable for the camera so I could show you what they are! I remembered everything else, but I think the cable is attached to the computer tower at home. That’s ok, because I think this one tops them all, and I already had this uploaded into my dashboard and ready to go from a few days ago.
I’ve seen these types of wall art pieces for $20 or more at HomeGoods (see below). For $3.00, how could I pass it up? That’s what you might expect to pay at a garage sale, right? The spot where it’s in used to have a kitchen cabinet. We took it down about a year ago. It just looked weird hanging there all by itself, and I don’t miss the storage, but the space was crying out for *something*.
That little table was once a globe stand. Well, the bottom was anyway. The top is just a silver plate. It makes a nice little spot for the phone and modem, so they don’t have to go on the counter.
I got this next piece of wall art from HomeGoods a few weeks ago for around $20.00. There used to be a predominantly light green piece there, but I’m gradually adding more red and phasing out the green. In the background you can see my antique ironing board. I had it on the porch initially, but I like it here a bit more. It’s a nice place to place some items if you’re having dinner guests, or it can potentially provide some height with some decorative items in that corner.
So this sign is all about wine, and the $3.00 one is all about cheese. Works for me.
A couple of weeks ago I tied the drapes together with some large burlap ribbon. I like it a bit more this way. Looks a little less formal and let’s face it, this space is pretty casual.
And yes, that’s Patron in the background and no, you can’t have any. Well, you can, but you have to come over. We’re the third house on the left if you’re coming in from the lake.
It’s been extremely hot the last few days. The kind of hot where your camera lens gets fogged up as soon as you take it outside. I’ve been at the cabin since Wednesday, and I’m excited to report the deck is starting to get built! It’s been a long process, and I’ll tell you about it when it’s finished. We did manage to save a few thousand dollars, and I’ll pass along how we did that.
I started the process of making the broach bouquet, and last night I made two chair cushions for a bistro table on the porch. The first one took me more than an hour and came out weird. The second one took less than 30 minutes and came out nearly perfect. Go figure.
Time for some lunch and maybe a walk by the lake. Stay cool my lovelies!

I LOVE the wine and cheese signs! And since cheese plugs me up and wine…well…the other, they cancel each other out, which makes them the perfect combination!!!!
Happy Friday!
