If you’re a Manolo Blahnik fan, you’re gonna love this post ;).
Remember the ‘Set To Celebrate‘ event I went to a couple of weeks ago? Did you think I was going to forget to show you my favorite display??
Never happen.
The display was set up in a round room that had walls temporarily covered with over 40,000 lemon leaves. It took several people three full days to complete the job, and it was all for this event which was just two days. Mind boggling!
If you’re familiar with Manolo Blahnik shoes, then you might know each pair has a name, and this iconic pair is called ‘Carrie’, made famous by the oh-so-fashionable Sarah Jessica Parker of ‘Sex In The City’. As an aside, I miss that show so much!
Some of the shoes were donated by members of the Garden Club the event was benefitting, and I understand some were directly from Manolo Blahnik. Wherever they were from, they were ALL gorgeous!
Sorry about the blurriness of the next photo. I must have been shaking with excitement ;).
That’s about it for the shoes. How about we look at some pretty tables now?
Almost every theme you can imagine was represented. Asian inspired…
romantic…
wedding…
Country French Bistro…
even an MIT ‘Nerd’ table!
They must have had an abundance of those leaves to decorate with!
If you’d like to see more drop dead gorgeous table designs that were displayed at this event last year, check out this post and this one. There’s loads of inspiration to be seen, and if you’d like to see a beautiful centerpiece my friend made after getting inspired from a design she saw at this event, check out this post.
In other news…
I put together a couple of wreaths on Monday for a fundraiser which I’ll show you next time. They came out really nice as did many of the others that all the volunteers worked on. I always have a hard time making pretty bows, but I’ve figured out a way to do it that although takes a little longer than the method in this post, it’s foolproof. I’ll share that with you very soon.
I won’t have much Christmas decorating to show you this month, but I do have some fun events I’ll be attending so stay tuned. I also got the baking bug, and have been busy making these biscotti as well as a few other perennial favorites. Ya’ know, I always envied food bloggers. I figured it would be easy because you can virtually never run out of content, but that’s so NOT true. It takes a lot of time to stage a food shot, and I don’t know about you but when I’m finished cooking dinner, I just want to eat it while it’s hot ;).
Till next time my lovelies…

The tables are absolutely stunning! However, as you know I’m not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, those heels just look like accidents waiting to happen!

I have never seen so many beautiful shoes in one place before! I especially have never seen any used to decorate tables with. Using them to hold flowers is so creative! That “nerd” table is hysterical!

Thanks so much for sharing this incredible event with us…I don’t think I could have come up for air to take photos! I’m such a shoe freak, even more so now than when I was young for the most part because I can admire them knowing I will never wear (or afford) them!! lol! What clever ideas and the lemon leaves, insane!! The table settings were gorgeous as well.
I’m going to look at the link for the bows and I’ll look for your upcoming post. I’m hopeless and I really have to work at it. Thanks!

Wow, fabulous Doreen! I had never heard of these shoes. The younger me would have loved them, but I can not wear heels like that anymore. My knees just won’t let me. 🙁 The displays are amazing!

Lovely and fun tablescapes. I agree with you, evey time I begin a recipe, I think, I’ll blog about it and then taking the pictures take too much time and when I finish the recipe it’s already too dark for a good staging… and I just eat!
