This was the weekend I put our rubber bands and frog tape to good use. I love taking something hum drum and turning it into something special, and that’s exactly what I did with this vase that was crying out for a redo. I love how it turned out and think it complements our decor nicely. It’s so easy to do, you’ll be amazed!
I saw these blue and green vases that were wine bottles in their former lives on Etsy and figured it would be easy enough to duplicate using just semi transparent etching spray paint. It’s available at most home improvement stores and costs around $5.00.

All you do is wrap rubber bands around the vase, spray one or two coats, let dry and remove the rubber bands. It’s best to use rubber bands of varying widths, but anything goes. There is no right or wrong way to do this.
In this post, I mentioned we’re giving our kitchen small updates over time. One of them is replacing some our kitchen cabinet door inserts with glass. The glass you see here was some scrap glass we had and decided to do some experimenting. I’m glad we did because I’ve thought of another idea I like better than the horizontal/vertical stripes. Stay tuned.
Rumor has it it’s FINALLY going to warm up a bit around here this week. Maybe I’ll get a chance to go outside and make use of my new camera. Or maybe not…we have our grandson for the week. So maybe it’s time to check out some Pinterest boards for kids activities! If you have any to share, I’m all ears :).
