Autumn has arrived, and it brings with it striking tones of red, gold, orange, crimson and browns. Decorating with these fall colors creates a warm, rich and inviting atmosphere that feels like a bear hug, and who doesn’t love bear hugs?
If you are looking for a palette that is irresistibly comfortable and cozy, then look no further than these beautifully decorated rooms.
Rich shades of orange with brown accents make this room warm and inviting. The light walls and high ceiling keep everything from becoming too weighted, making the room feel cozy but fresh and sophisticated, and don’t you just want to touch the velvety fabric on these gorgeous chairs?
I love the rustic elegance of this space, and wow, those windows are to die for! The layered rugs, floral arrangement borrowed from Mother Nature and rich toned pillows and throw bring Autumn into this space effortlessly and beautifully.

Painting this fireplace surround white was a bold move, but it helps to break up the ‘all wood’ look and creates a lovely focal point.
All that was needed to create a warm dining area with a ‘wow’ factor were these long drapes. Although the drapes are similar in color to the walls, the subtle pattern distinguishes them and creates a pretty effect.
Cranberry and gold work nicely together in a color scheme in this understated traditional living room.
I love simple but bold arrangements, and nothing achieves it quite so elegantly and simply (and inexpensively!) as Mother Nature. The rustic natural wood, weathered leather chair and beautiful branch of red leaves create a perfect cozy reading nook.
This living room is full of natural elements from the stone fireplace, tree branch, hide rug and caramel-colored furniture.
A simple white sofa is so versatile and looks great when paired with warm, natural elements such as stone and wood.

I love the curved bench in this dining space, and the pops of read against a creamy palette is stunning. And check out that chandelier!
The arched doorway, beamed ceiling and warm gold hues remind me of Tuscany. The striped curtains are such a perfect addition, and really make the fruit and flowers on the table pop.
There are so many possibilities for bringing Autumn into your home, and it doesn’t have to be complicated or costly. Apples and pears in a simple bowl, an inexpensive richly colored throw, and some of Mother Nature’s treasures are all you need.

Apples and pears may not cost much, Doreen, but those 2 leather chairs in your 3rd room by the fireplace would not be so cheap. But I do so lust after them!
These colors appeal to me year round! I’m just an autumn color person.
Thanks for doing all the work of bringing these pretty rooms together for us to look at!

My home is mostly White and Black with Brown wood tones.
All the walls are white although I’ve got Olive Green paint for the laundry room.
(I need to just Paint it and stop hesitating.)
This post makes me want to add even more color!
But it also, once again, makes me want to get a white sofa.
(Especially now that the black one is destroyed.)
I know, it would be pure madness on my part but the one I’m looking at has washable slipcovers.
(I would buy several spares! LOL!)
Thanks for this post!

(PS. Changed my format for you. hopefully that one works on your iPad! LOL)

I have a great room with a lot of Windows as you have shown. Could you show a kitchen with similar colors? Love your ideas!

Love the big beautiful windows! I wish we had higher ceilings so our windows to our view could be even greater. But I love that they’re still floor to ceiling – even if not high. 🙂 I drool over pottery barn catalogs for these seasons.
Thanks for some more beautiful inspiration my Dear Gal! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.

Doreen,
Beautiful collection of Fall inspiration you’ve shared with us today. I think Fall is my favorite time of the year.
Summer just makes me so weary and Fall is totally invigorating. Love the white sofa’s, stone and mirrors, such a perfect mix of rustic panache.
Hope you are enjoying many Fall days, Doreen!

Great roundup of inspiring rooms, Doreen! My entire main floor is done in fall colors…it looks great when it’s “in season,” but in summer and spring, I’m itching to paint it a neutral color!

Doreen, all these homes are decorated so nicely for Fall with the rich colors of this glorious season. The one that caught my eye was the cranberry touches, as red in the home gets to me every time. I really like that dining space too, that’s charming.
I want to thank you for your thoughts tonight on my post. It’s nice to hear some of my blog friend’s pet peeves, and learned a lot from them too. And I appreciate you joining in on the conversation.
Have a terrific Autumn week ahead, Doreen.

I was more into bringing those Fall colors – like orange in its many varied hues – into our house in New York. I think because it was bigger and not and open floor plan made it easier to do that. Although, I find I’m just not feeling my faux orange pumpkins this year. I’m more into the more natural, neutral look. I’d go for orange as a faded copper, I think, at this point. Some of those living rooms look great with the more subdued colors of Fall.
Doreen says
I agree Kathy. I’ve never been a huge faux orange pumpkin gal either. Neutrals are really where my heart lies, with touches of blue. Funny isn’t it, that I have no blue in our home?!

You chose some beautiful rooms to showcase! I love the colors of fall…they just add so much “oomph” to a space! Hope you had a great weekend! I’m playing catch up! 🙂

Well the weathered leather with the leafy tree wins hands down in my book, Doreen!
They are all wonderful, but I could see myself surrounded by books, beams and all of those windows.

All cozy and colourful autumnal rooms with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Fall is finally here, and I can feel a change in the air, the temps have dropped slightly, the rain on my bedroom window softly awakens me each morning, and the pony tail is untied to let my hair keep my shoulders warm.
Love the last pic the best for its breezy, uncomplicated vibe.
Happy Fall, House Honey!
