Our friends have a lovely home steps away from the beach in Montauk, Long Island, and we were lucky enough to spend this past weekend with them. One of the first things I did upon arrival was to start taking pictures! Good thing they keep a neat home ;).
Upon entering, the first room you see is the living room, which has vaulted ceilings, a working fireplace and can easily seat 6-8 people comfortably. This is a view from the third floor looking down.
My favorite item in their home is this lovely painting on canvas. It came from Provence and I am totally in love with the colors that were used.
To the right of the armoire are the steps that lead to the second floor where there are two bedrooms and a bath. If you go up a few more steps, you come to the third floor which houses the master bedroom/bath which I’ll show you in a bit.
To the left of the living room is the dining area, and to the left of that is the kitchen.
As an added bonus, outside the kitchen window to the left is a private outdoor shower. It was sooooo nice taking a shower with the stars above.
These candles were mesmorizing. When they flickered, it looked like there were butterflies dancing inside. Very cool.
There’s no shortage of rocks on the beach, and they’ve made the most of them and have incorporated them in their design details.
The master bedroom is painted a lovely light turquoise and has it’s own private balcony.
From the window, you can see the beach and even hear the waves on a quiet day.
The view from the master bedroom balcony.
Here’s one of the two guest bedrooms on the second floor. This one has a queen size bed. Fisherman and I stayed in the other, which has a king. I didn’t take a picture because we pretty much trashed it as soon as we arrived!
There is a lovely deck located just off the dining area.
I love birdhouses, and this one’s no exception.
We had a fabulous dinner on the beach Friday night and visited a winery and of course, took a quick dip in the ocean too. I’ll show you those pics next time!

Hi Doreen,
It’s beautiful photos like these that make me so terribly homesick for that North American splendour! How gorgeous this home and its surroundings are! I am in love with the colours used both in the interiors and outdoors. From the pretty Provencal painting/fireplace surround and the hanging fall bouquet to the cozy coloured bedrooms and inviting deck, this warm and whimsical home is pure storybook charm!
Thanks so much for sharing.
