Sunset has always been my favorite time of day. Something about the calmness of the water during this time is therapeutic. One of my favorite things to do while we are up at the lake is to take the kayak out just as day gives way to night. If everyone would have the opportunity to do this, therapists would need to find another line of work.
On Thursday, we took a bike ride, visited a tag sale (more on that in another post) and spent some time on the lake late afternoon.
Some posts needs lots of explaining. This isn’t one of them.
That’s my fisherman on the dock. The fish weren’t bitin’, but there’s always tomorrow.
Some wine and cheese on the porch later that evening
No doubt, 20 years from now these children will be recalling fond memories of summers spent at the lake. This was taken while we were on the lake with a few of our friends a couple of days later on Saturday, tethered together with ropes while we sipped wine and enjoyed the sunshine.
A quick game of wiffle ball. Yeah, I said wiffle ball. Stop laughing. In case you’re wondering, we kicked butt. So there.
Time for a wiener roast down by the beach, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
The clouds were changing so rapidly, if you looked away for five minutes, they would have totally changed formation and color.
These photos are unedited, so you’re seeing it as I did. Beautiful, isn’t it?!
I absolutely LOVE Autumn, but I’m sad to see summer end. What are some of your fondest memories of the summer?

We used to play wiffle ball, too! What fabulous memories you’re making. I bet everyone looks forward to the time they spend there. Thanks for sharing, Doreen!
